The setting Sandy specified is not there. Everything Sandy mentioned is there, except for anything that allows you to set the port. It's not there. Not in IIS 6.0 SMTP.

He pointed out the setting in IIS SMTP you can use to specify the port. I need the IIS SMTP to forward to port 26 on 127.0.0.1, but it appears I can't choose the port that it forwards to - it seems to want only to forward to port 25. Sounds like SMTP in Exchange will let you do this, but I am not running Exchange. Does anyone have any ideas on how to get IIS SMTP to forward to 127.0.0.1 on a port other than 25? I am not going to install these on separate machines, so if this is not going to work I will have to try a 3rd party software package that has it's own SMTP built in instead of relying on IIS SMTP. In any case, Sandy already pointed out that there is a setting to configure the outbound port. I just can't figure out how to get IIS SMTP to forward to localhost on a port different from 25. You can specify it in Exchange SMTP, but I can't find any info on doing it with IIS. Is it a viable option to run IIS on a different port and IMail on port 25? The MS help doesn't help. That's a little vague. For incoming, all you need is a 'Remote Domain' entry in MS SMTP that tells it to forward to [127.0.0.1] on port 26, and check off 'Allow relay to this domain.' > However, I can send email out just fine when having Imail forward > outgoing messages to IIS SMTP. Uh-huh. Different path, almost irrelevant (glad you have it working, though). > Any ideas?
