Only  as  long  as  you  keep  a  dead  IP  in DNS. DDNS, standard and
portable,  automatically  serves  dynamic  RRs  only  as long as their
timestamp allows. I always use DDNS for setups where I want to be both
downtime- and uptime-sensitive.
