You got to love being email admin.  I waited 10mn until I tried resending those 2 messages and the thing works whitout even touching any Imail settings: no error messages, no crap from the server!
I didn't even re-apply HF2. event viewer shows no errors nor Imail's logs.

Ok,  I tried the following scenarios with only 2 errors.  I couldn't find a link or reason as to why it happened other than to reapply hf2.   a wild thought: by using the same domain in lowercase and uppercase that would equate as a mask and anything in between would be acceptable.
read * = @
right now I have initialplants.com as the only host alias, feel free to email me at EBUJAN*INITIALPLANTS.COM and most likely will receive an error message.
for what it matters we host 2 domains.  I sent a message to USER*PRIMESCAPEPRODUCTS.COM and she received it.

I tested a number of variations with capitalization on our domain from an external server and did not run into any bounced emails at all.  We are on 8.2 HF2

Subject: [IMail Forum] Case sensitive domain error

I thought this issue was fixed.
I am running 8.20 hf2 and a few users have complained that some senders get messages rejected from our server.
I found out that what it's been rejected are messages with our domain name with capital letters, InitialPlants.com, Initialplants.Com, INITIALPLANTS.COM, etc.

For the moment, I have to add those instances in the host alias or else they'd get rejected with message similar to:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:
209.48.99.242 does not like recipient.
Remote host said: 550 not local host Initialplants.Com, not a gateway
I'll check the KB but last time didn't find anything.

Thank you,

Elliott
