Davide,

SMTPD only needs to be restarted when changing/adding a host alias for an 
existing host.  If the host alias is added while creating
the host, a restart of SMTPD is not necessary.

The caching of host information was done to improve SMTP performance, a not 
insignificant complaint in prior versions.

Why ? We add several hosts per day and into everyone we put an host alias!
 I cannot restart SMTP service every time...
Why this is a requirement of 8.20 ? It worked everytime from version 4 until 
today....
