Well, yes and no.

I think that Apache 2.0 is more restrictive than free-fork. I don't fully understand Apache 2.0 myself.

Of course, GPL 2 is *much* more restrictive than either free-fork or Apache, and the proposed GPL 3 is worth. It's sad that people are so willing give up rights in order to be politically correct.

But, if the change of license eliminates the FUD and confusion, I guess that it was a good thing.
