You are the best! Yes, it did help. But the file was not created this
time, but the last time, because then I had to move the mail files from
$USER/mail to $USER/Mail/mail for it work.. Now I had to move it back,
but it works.

Did that update create an /etc/c-client.cf file?

files, without understanding that such files break many existing systems.

ftp://ftp.cac.washington.edu/mail/imap.tar.Z
and install it. See if that makes things work better.
