Hello everyone,

I just upgraded to uw-imap 2004g via the FreeBSD ports collection (I'm on
i386-pc-freebsd4.11), and my SSL connection stopped working! If I select
SSL in Outlook Express, it says:

The server has unexpectedly terminated the connection
  Protocol: IMAP
  Port: 993
  Secure(SSL): 1
  Code: 800ccc0f

On the server side, we see that the recriminations are mutual:

Nov 15 05:33:04 aki imapd[207]: Command stream end of file, while
reading line user=??? host=UNKNOWN
Nov 15 05:33:04 aki imapd[206]: Command stream end of file, while
flushing line user=??? host=kiki.ziemas.net [10.0.0.127]
Nov 15 05:33:24 aki imapd[208]: Command stream end of file, while
flushing line user=??? host=kiki.ziemas.net [10.0.0.127]
Nov 15 05:33:24 aki imapd[209]: Connection reset by peer, while reading
line user=??? host=UNKNOWN

My first suspicion was OpenSSL, so I went ahead and upgraded to version
0.9.7l, and then rebuilt Qmail and Apache-SSL against it, but both of the
latter apps appear to work fine SSL-wise (and otherwise, too).

The interesting thing is that although IMAP over SSL stopped working, IMAP
over TLS still works! (I run the Linux Thunderbird client at work, that's
how I know.) Has anyone run into this particular combination? I guess if
all else fails, I'll try the latest-n-greatest UW-IMAP distro (2006c?),
though I'm a bit reluctant since I have some neato hacks in 2004g to
support hierarchical folders. :-)

Many thanks in advance for any pointers,

--Zem
