There've been many recent threads on the topic of why I consider such to be an extremely bad idea, so I won't repeat what has already been said many times. However, I'll note that if mix format on a single machine performs quite a bit better than traditional UNIX format on your two machines...and allows shared access (so no need for kiss-of-death).
I'm curious, has anyone published any figures on what the performance gains are?
