perdition does indeed have incoming and outgoing tls.
OK, so there must be multiple versions of perdition. The one that I saw the other day did not have TLS.
I wanted people to connect to port 143 via TLS, then use perdition to redirect it to port 993.
Out of curiousity, why? Why not have perdition to redirect to a server and use TLS?
I did some massive googling yesterday on the web and I did not see any reference to being able to set outlook to use STARTTLS on port 143...
I am not at all surprised to hear that Outlook doesn't support TLS. -- Mark -- http://staff.washington.edu/mrc Science does not emerge from voting, party politics, or public debate.
