I believe it would be useful (very much so for me) if you could somehow make
the "define MIXDATAROLL" setting available in the top level makefile. All
other common items are able to be set there, and this, as evidence by recent
lively discussion on the subject of the "ideal" dataroll level, would be
functional to have as a makefile setting given all the varying and equally
valid opinions. Always having to edit src/osdep/unix/mix.c is awkward.

The benefit is, of course, that new versions would generally only need the
makefile copied from the prior version to get all settings, cflags etc. that
might be set.
