The IMAP protocol does not have any calendaring capabilities; IMAP is a message access protocol and not a calendaring protocol. IMAP client software that offers calendaring capabilities has the ability to use a calendaring protocol in addition to IMAP.

I don't know if Outlook 2007 does so, but I suspect that it does not. I believe that Outlook can only do calendaring with an Exchange server.
