This does not make sense. mail_fetch_message calls themail_fetchtext code internally. You are confused. At least part of your confusion is probably due to Gmail.The Gmail IMAP server is DEFECTIVE. It has BUGS, includingRETURNING WRONG SIZES. You are probably seeing a combination of Gmail's bugs andbugs in your application. I can guarantee you that c-client accurately returns whateverthe server gave it. These functions have been extensivelytested and used for over 20 years. Yes, even with MESSAGE/RFC822. Your first step is to use a known WORKING IMAP server as thebasis to test against. UW, Panda, Cyrus, Dovecot are all goodservers to use for testing.
