Hi Neil - Thank you for your message. I have reviewed your two proposed patches.
Your analysis is completely correct. Other than the cosmetic difference of using "NIL" instead of "0", I have adopted both patches in the latest version of Panda IMAP.
I am surprised to learn that anyone is actually using -I. It was a half-baked idea that I agreed to add in a moment of weakness. Of course, the requestor never used it. So, how do you use it?
