Hello,

I know this could be a trivial question. But I would like hear the
authoritative
answer on it.

I read recently in one of the popular network books which read
"Unlike POP3, IMAP can also accept outgoing e-mail for shipment to the
destination as well as deliver incoming e-mail."

Is this really true? I know we can store/upload email to our own folders on
the
IMAP server from the email client, but can we actually send outgoing mails
through IMAP
like SMTP? If so please clarify how it can be done and any popular email
clients already
support it?

Thanks
Dister
