does anybody know if the c-client's function imap_rfc822_parse_headers()

There is no such function as "imap_rfc822_parse_headers()"
If you are referring to the rfc822_parse_msg_full() function, an internal
function that should never be called by applications directly, and to the
ENVELOPE structure that is returned, the answer is "yes". The ENVELOPE
structure is what is returned in IMAP as the ENVELOPE, and that behavior
is mandatory.
