Linux and NFS, oh well. How recent is the XFS on it? I only ask because
I'm ex-SGI, and there were a lot of fixes over the last couple of years
and there were problems getting them up-stream. (Funny how political some
of the OSS types can get about accepting changes from a commercial
organisation.)

Okay, it doesn't look like the file system problem that I had with ZFS, then.
Have/can you try another IMAP client? Pine/alpine, Claws, whatever?
