What gets me is that I can't understand what is wrong (if anything) with the mix formats that I created. They were created and appended by mailutil (2007e) from intermediate files. I don't understand what you mean by intermediate files? Whatever that means I don't know but I can say that in the past, with earlier versions of uw-imap, when I had a bizarre problem with mix files that could not be resolved by the use of mixrbld and/or mixdfix as appropriate I would use mailutil to convert my mix folder back to a mbox format folder. I would then convert, using mixcvt, this mbox version of my folder back to a mix format folder. This worked for me in cases where mixrbld couldn't fix my problem. Again, these things seemed to happen with earlier version of uw-imap and of course, you mileage may vary. One other advantage of going through the procedure will be to create a mix folder broken into mix segments which will help with backups tremendously or at least I remember something to that effect.
