FWIW

If you are still interested in running UW imapd, you may want to look at panda-imap instead.

" Mark Crispin <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mark_Crispin>, the former developer of UW IMAP, announced^<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UW_IMAP#cite_note-3> a fork called Panda IMAP"

I've been using it for a while now, for my personal mail server.
Switching fixed a number of problems that I was having using that last dist from UW.

Hi Jerry,

I had a similar crashes in imap-2007f running on SLES 11.3. I debugged
the source code; it turned out, there were two bugs. I fixed them and
that resolved the crashes for me. I sent my patch to this list, but I'm
not sure that anyone cares as UW IMAP doesn't seem to be maintained anymore.

Even though I was able to fix the problem, I lost confidence in UW imapd
and switched to dovecot. So far, dovecot has shown to be superior in
every meaningful way.

Hello,
I am hoping that you may be able to help me solve a problem I have
encountered with UW-imapd.
We have been running the UW-imap application for quite a while. First
on a Sun system and now we have upgraded [2011] to imap-2007f running on
a Centos system. I have noticed lately that imapd segfaults. I was
wondering what I can do to determine the cause or if this is known
problem and there is a fix that I can apply?
