I had the same arrangement and experience as Chris. Didn’t see corruption - just the iOS clients didn’t stay synchronized (specifically, failed to pick up status changes made by other clients - message correctly seen as unread, message then read by another client, iOS client continued to show message as unread until actually read on the iOS client). Switched to Dovecot a couple of years back and have never looked back.
The good news was it was fairly easy and Dovecot proved to be a “drop-in” replacement provided you leave the mail in mbox format and point Dovecot to where UW-IMAP had it (I later converted to Maildir but there is no need to do so initially - mbox is not the preferred format for Dovecot but it will handle it just fine). There is no need to use Dovecot’s delivery agent, at least right away (there are performance reasons to do so but a low-volume server will be fine without it). -- Larry Stone [email protected] > On Aug 1, 2015, at 1:27 AM, brian <[email protected]> wrote: > > as expected, thanx for confirming. > > Brian > > On 8/1/2015 1:25 AM, Chris Bunch wrote: >> I have been running a UW_IMAP server on Mac OS X mainly for family accounts >> for around 12 years.
