I know the answer is "build your imap server to the spec and don't worry
about the clients, if they adhere to the spec and your server adheres to
the spec, they will work."

But nonetheless, I would like to know if there is a list or document
someplace that outlines the differences between the most common clients and
how they interact with IMAP servers. I have seen from my packet sniffer
that Outlook Express, Eudora, Netscape and Outlook 2000 definitely do
things differently, especially in the normal sequence of events. It would
be useful for two reasons, one is that it would help me debug things, so I
can tell more quickly if what I am seeing is because the clients are
different or because I am not meeting the spec or if I have a bug...
