This may mean that your inbox probably isn't in the normal place. Like
/usr/spool/mail.

UW IMAP is installed, 2001a (Tru64). When I go to
Netscape or Outlook, I login but I can't see the mail;
but I can send the mail. Any clues? Oh, when I go to
the the IMAP folder section of the IMAP client, it
downloads all the directories from the UNIX server???

I'm in desperation, thanks.

Rodney
