I'm implementing my own IMAP server as a replacement for one in a package
I'm using for mail delivery. (dbmail, as a package, is all good and well.
However, it sucks majorly when using SEARCH.) I'm running into a few
problems with getting MUA's to deal with it though..
I have yet to figure this error out. Outlook express keeps telling me the
following:
IMAP: 03:43:35 [rx] * 16805922 UID FETCH (ENVELOPE ({26}
IMAP: 03:43:35 [rx] Buffer (literal) of length 26
IMAP: 03:43:35 [rx] {88}
IMAP: 03:43:35 [rx] Buffer (literal) of length 88
IMAP: 03:43:35 [rx] ((NIL NIL {5}
IMAP: 03:43:35 [rx] Buffer (literal) of length 5
IMAP: 03:43:35 [rx] {7}
IMAP: 03:43:35 [rx] Buffer (literal) of length 7
IMAP: 03:43:35 [rx] )) NIL NIL NIL NIL NIL NIL {36}
IMAP: 03:43:35 [rx] Buffer (literal) of length 36
IMAP: 03:43:35 [rx] ) RFC822.SIZE 2751 UID 16805922 FLAGS () INTERNALDATE \
"14-Aug-2002 14:23:00" BODY[HEADER.FIELDS (References X-Ref X-Priority \
X-MSMail-Priority X-MSOESRec Newsgroups)] {2}
IMAP: 03:43:35 [rx] Buffer (literal) of length 2
IMAP: 03:43:35 [rx] )
IMAP: 03:43:35 [db] PARSE ERROR: hr=2148322522
(The backslashes in the message is added for the purpose of making the
lines not go on forever. There isn't really a carriage return at the point
of the "\" in the message.)
The IMAP server shows that it's sending the following response:
* 16805922 UID FETCH (ENVELOPE ({26}
15 Aug 2002 07:06:23 -0000 {88}
#18912 [Opn->Bgs]: pg_pconnect opens a new connection even when and old \
one is available ((NIL NIL {5}
edink {7}
php.net)) NIL NIL NIL NIL NIL NIL {36}
<[EMAIL PROTECTED]>) RFC822.SIZE 2751 UID 16805922 FLAGS \
() INTERNALDATE "14-Aug-2002 14:23:00" BODY[HEADER.FIELDS (References \
X-Ref X-Priority
X-MSMail-Priority X-MSOESRec Newsgroups)] {2}
)
(Again, backslashes inserted at "non-existant" newlines for clarity.)
I'm confused as to the response, since I've gone through and checked and
double-checked to make sure that my results are correct (as far as I
can tell from RFC2060. I wish there were a good automated protocol testing
utility avaliable...)
Pine seems to have no problem with the mailbox in question. OE, on the
other hand, will come up, tell me that I have 2200 new messages in the
mailbox, and then proceed to tell me on the "Inbox" folder that there are
no new messages (and won't give me a list of them), but will tell me in
it's status bar that there are 2200 unread messages.
Any suggestions?
Sarah
