It might be stronger and clearer to state that "any UID range involving * indicates at least one message, unless the mailbox is empty." > ; * is the largest number in use. For message... A very minor quibble but I would prefer "* represents the largest number in use". I realize that, no matter how you state it, this suggests an anomaly in that, if the mailbox is empty, * has no meaning since there is no largest number in use. But this is a triviality -- I do not suggest that you need to address it. Pete Maclean
