Is this "known" or "fixed"? I cant find any reference to it on the web site..

Assuming a valid user login name of "user1" ...

1. Create /etc/c-client.cf, and write..

        I accept the risk
        set black-box-directory /var/folders

2. Create /var/folders (but NOT /var/folders/user1)

3. Login as user1 and run pine

   ---> segfault occurs

4. do "telnet hostname 110"
        USER user1
        PASS <password>

   ---> Session terminated by the remote server.

5. do /usr/sbin/ipop3d, then type..
        USER user1
        PASS <password>

  ---> Segfault occurrs.

If the directory /var/folders/user1 exists, these segfaults dont happen.

This is with RedHat linux 7.3. I have tried with RedHat's RPM version AND the
master sources from the washington.edu site - the error is in both.
