Hello

I'm trying to setup some shared imap mailboxes on my linux server to be
accessed by multiple outlook xp clients.
Well there seems to be various incompatibilities so my question is:
Is this (shared mbx mailboxes accessed from outlook through UW IMAPD)
supposed to work fine or not?

The 2 major issues I've found are:
1) If I try to move a message from any mailbox (say "spam") back to
INBOX, then the message just get lost. Of course imapd could decide to
refuse to move a message to INBOX but then it should return an error to
outlook. Instead outlook says everything is fine, the message is deleted
from the "spam" mailbox but doesn't appear in the INBOX mailbox (moving
form INBOX to spam or from spam to other works fine)
2) If outlook connects to the imap server (that is, if I access the imap
account and not only my pop3 accounts), then Outlook often doesn't close
properly on exit but leaves a hung process behind. The next time I start
outlook it refuses to exchange mail unless I kill the hung process
beforehand. This is not a (socket) timeout problem since it may happen
even if I access the imap server for just 1 minute and then close
outlook.

This is with latest imapd 2002.rc8 and latest outlook xp sp2. Before the
rc8 anyway I tried with 2002a-10 and had the same problem.

Are these outlook known bugs? Or uwimap known issues? Or
misconfiguration?
Any idea on how to solve these is very welcome.

Thanks
Livio
