Note however that while RFC 2683 permits a server command line length
limit (and 8000 octets is the recommended value), a client must be
prepared to accept a response line of any length from the server.

Some IMAP response lines can be quite long.  Fortunately, the client
usually has a clue that it is about to get something of this nature.
