I know this may have been asked MANY places before and answered MANY times
before, but I am unable to gooooooogle it , I have yet to find the Archive
of this post list. - so I am sorry to be a pain!

I am running UW-IMap on my server, obvesouly, which I love so much. It works
GREAT for my requirments.
I am able to use SSL from work on an IMAP client and get my e-mail and send
and all sorts.. Brillent :)

However I want to run squirrelmail on my webserver, everytime I log in I get
User unknowan or password incorrect.

I dont believe this to be a squirrrelmail problem, after Ethereal'ing the
data stream, it appears that UW-IMAP will not allow that user access to the
server - hence the error.

I am using Debian , and apt-getted the packeages from unstable,

The issue I believe and please correct me if I am wrong, is that uw-imap
will not allow plain logins's..

My router disallows 143 through and squirrelmail is set up to talk to
localhost on 143, so I dont have an issue with plain logins,
It has been sujested to me to use MD5 encryption, which occording to my
install of uw-imap does not support. Plain would be more suited as I really
dont want to have to maintain an MD5 database which from what I have readin
the docs you do...

any ideas would be greatfully accecpted :)

Again I am sorry to be a pain if this have been covered OVER and OVER but
there appreas to be nothing on the net that makes any sence :)

Thanks so much in advace :)
