That's not how you do it. A google search for 'unsubscribe' and the name of the mailing list invariably shows how to. In this case:
http://www.google.com/search?q=unsubscribe+imap%40u.washington.edu
The first result is:
http://www.washington.edu/imap/imap-list.html
which explains all.
