I was wondering if anyone else had run into this problem:
When an Outlook (or OE) POP3 user files mail locally, the message
disappears from the local Inbox. But remains in their server mail
file. Eventually, hundreds, thousands (millions?) of messages reside on
the server, none of which are shown in Outlook. Eudora, Mozilla, etc don't
appear to exhibit this...er...behavior. It only happens when you have the
POP3 account set to leave a copy of the message on the server.
IMAP in Outlook works correctly, it seems. The workaround for POP3 is to
set the account to "Remove from server when deleted from Deleted Items",
copy/paste messages into the desired local mailbox when filing, delete the
messages out of the Inbox, then select "Empty Deleted Items folder".
I wouldn't think that ipop3d would be involved, since messages do get
deleted correctly with the procedure above.
