What other problems are there beside what I described? I often leave mails unseen to indicate that it needs some further action. I guess some other flags would work as well but \Seen is the only flag that works with all clients. My INBOX has 142 unseen mails currently. Also I don't read mails in some high volume mailing lists, so unseen counters are useless there as well. Recent counters would work very well with both cases to indicate when new mail has arrived.
