Hi.. I really would like some help with this.
I have installed imap-4.5.4 and imap-devel-4.5.4 rpms on Linux RH7.2
for the purposes of making Horde/IMP work.

How do i start the imap service?
When i run imapd service from command line, i get the imap header.
But i am unable to login with a username/password combination

The sample session is as follows:
#imapd
* OK lin IMAP4rev1 v12.250 server ready
login testuser testuser
login BAD Command unrecognized/login please:TESTUSER
Ctrl-C (to break the session)

testuser is a valid account on my system.
First of all, am i logging in correctly?

ps ax | grep imapd >> no valid results are returned
ps ax | grep imap >> no valid results are returned

Also, when i telnet on port 143, connection is refused. eg:
#telnet lin 143
Trying 192.168.1.100...
telnet: connect to address 192.168.1.100: Connection refused

I am not sure where i should enable the imap service.
I know all the other service eg. telnet, ftp are enable by
#etc/rc.d/init.d/xinetd start

I would really appreciate if someone could help me.

Thank you.
-BT
