The IMAP server should do whatever the author of that server deems to be
the most reasonable means of handling the broken MIME message, as long as
the output complies with the requirements of the IMAP protocol.

An IMAP server is under no obligation to undertake any particular action
when faced with non-compliant RFC 2822 or MIME. Its only obligations are
to behave in certain ways when faced with compliant RFC 2822 and MIME, and
at all times to comply with the IMAP protocol.

Garbage In, Garbage Out.
