should be explicitly stated in the next version of the IMAP specification. First, it is hard (at least for me) to infer this rule from the current RFC. And second, it is tempting to send UIDs in unsolicited FETCH responses, under the false assumption that the UIDs are preferable to the sequence numbers. Marcel
