Hi, You are correct in that what I've said is largely hearsay. I have done some checking but I'm not a kanji expert and didn't intend to purport myself as such. I was trying to relate my experiences when the subject has come up and what I think are some of the reasons behind the complaining that always occurs when the topic is breached.
