As said before, I'm simply converting imdbpy2sql to support the
sqlobject backend. Being lazy, I have readMovieList castLists
doAkaNames done.
It's already a lot of work! I fear that the sql data access system
will be a real pain in {wherever-you-dont-like-it}.
Yeah, I'm optimist by nature... ;-)
Should commit doAkaTitles tonight. Please note that, just for test purposes I
stopped readMovieList after the first 10000 titles (imdbpy2sql:611)
I will commit everything ASAP. Highest priority is to finish this
work, so we can build the DB.
Fine; once you commit the imdbpy2sql.py script, remember to commit
also the utils.py: I can't find your python implementation of soundex(),
in the CVS.
Done.
Sure! Perhaps implement a C module? Feel free to move the actual
soundex python code if it's not in the right place.
I'll work (well.. I'll search for a free software implementation) on
the C function.
We also need to define which tables/columns we want to save the
phonetic code for. For now only Title.title, but I expect also
Name.name
Sure. Moreover I fear that for every single title we will need two
or more soundex pattern; E.g.: "The Title" and "Title, The".
I'm still unsure, I have to think about it.
No problem. It won't be a lot of work to add it later.

Got it.
