You're absolutely right. :-)

Since some time I update my copy using diff files; it looks
like the - for some reason - no diff file is distributed for the
above mentioned set of information (complete-crew, distributors, keywords
and special-effects-companies).
So my local copy ended up being out of date. :-/

Fetching the whole files from ftp://ftp.fu-berlin.de/pub/misc/movies/database/
fixes the problem.

Exactly; right now the only files with titles in the old format
are the obsolete ones, but this is expected and we already take
care of it.
I assume I need to revert back the last changes to imdbpy2sql.py. :-)
