Indeed...

One thing to note, which came as a surprise to me since it seemed
smartermail had all the features I wanted and much more; scalability on SM
is quite limited.  You cant use a backend SQL server, no duplication, and
you cant run web mail on a different machine.

Their customer support said the maximum users on a box is 40k.  They say the
limitation is windows socket based.

However, I see now that v 4.2 almost out and having implemented SSL on many
of their protocols, I sensed that scalability/redundancy will be the next
thing they would tackle for V5.

I say we rename IMGate to SmarterGate : )

We ran Imail for years and finally had enough.  After testing Smartermail,
Mailenable, and Merak we purchased Smartermail and never looked back.
