We have had problems with American express sending online statements and things of that nature.

Excepting from greylisting is usually not necessary because legit MTAs retry often within 10 minutes, and their IPs (and if big sender with multiple sending IPs, Class C is excepted) get automatically excepted/accepted within a very short time, and stay excepted.
