sorry, I was thinking syslogd logging. I don't know if Imail does heavy buffering like syslogd does. but again, it looks like your after disk i/o bottleneck and two disks is a good bet. if the old mobo ata channel is ata33 or 66, the Promise 2000 will give you ata133. Len
