In freebsd, I install syslog-ng for it superiors filtering and configuration options. It enables writing a specific file for imail_pop3.log. And its filtering allows selecting only the lines that the pop-before-stmp.pl script needs to obtain the ip info to put into the postfix pop-before-smtp.db file, which is an mta_clients whitelist of the ip's that have successfully logged into the Imail pop3 service.
