It sets sendmail back up as the default mailer.  Does this every time I
upgrade the OS on my boxes.

Download latest postfix, compile as per the directions and watch the readmes
for incompatibilities.

When you install, use the upgrade option so it knows it is rebuilding an
existing postfix.

Reboot the machine for paranoia sake, see what you get.

If the problems left over are not things you can get through, then as Len
said, rebuild time.
