This is a compile from scratch. That is what the make tidy is for.

The only difference is the "make upgrade" which is not a compile change.
It is an install change.

When you use "make upgrade" it inspects your present configuration and
adds to it, rather than replaces it.

No, I do not use SASL. Mine is a gateway only box and only talks freely
with known IPs.

I have tried SpamAssassin, and I was not impressed. The false positive
rate was huge.

Past that, I run something similar to Len's original IMgate.

The differences between mine and Len's is that after learning from him, I
also learned from a few other people, and added some ideas from those
sources. Len implemented most of these same changes I did on a similar
time line, and did other changes to the organization of his configuration.
So really it is an organizational difference more than anything else.

Len also went to SAV and RAV much sooner than I did. This is because at
many locations he is able to take more active measures than I can.

As an ISP, I must be more conservative in my attacks on UCE. We have
users of every sort, and I do not want to kill their mail.

I run my personal domain through a test machine for a short period before
implementing any change on machines that will touch customer data, and it
sill bites me at times.

Lately all my spare time has been focused on learning some wireless
technology because that is where we are expanding our market at the
moment.
