DNS caching is hours or days max.

spammers scan for port 15 and proxy ports, it's just not legit servers 
sending to old DNS records.

I think some spammers also learn IPs that  accept mail and send directly to 
the IP, no dns query.   Change the IP of that machine.

but if port 25 is accessible, then it will be hit
