I have used both. In general, LINUX pushes for being more experimental than FreeBSD, and FreeBSD pushes to follow the standard UNIX command set more than LINUX. There are all sorts of little pros and cons to both, but in the end all of those are just things you need to make personal choices about. So like any other software choice I have seen, there are lots of little differences, a few major ones, and you just need to pick the product that best suits your needs. If you know and like LINUX, it could be in your best interest to stick with LINUX. It will make it easier for you to administer the system if it is one you are comfortable with. If you just came from college, or some other job where true UNIX was used, you might be more comfortable in FreeBSD. Again, this would help in the comfort level. That is my view of LINUX vs FreeBSD in a nutshell. --Eric
