They have blocked the /24's of my outbound MTA's in the past. I just setup an entry in transport.map for rr.com & .rr.com to another one of my MTA's on a different class-c to resume my outbound mail, then contacted RR.
In cases where RR customers forward any spam that passed through your system to RR abuse, RR will block your whole class-c. I got blocked for a jesus freak forwarding his church mailings to a bunch of addresses from forms people filled out in church. Appearently one person on RR was too lazy to reply to him to stop sending them (was just a normal person using OE) and instead complained to RR. once RR provided me the email including headers I contacted the client of mine and found how he obtained the list (forms at church). I gave him all of the addresses of his RR clients and told him to email them to confirm they wanted to be on his list. with all of my actions RR removed the block no problem, though on average they take 24 hours to respond to each of your emailes. Expect your block to last 48-72 hours minimum. -----Original Message----- From: Chris Scott [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Friday, October 10, 2003 9:43 AM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: [IMGate] Re: RoadRunner Filter Len Conrad wrote: > >>host flmx02.mgw.rr.com[65.32.1.42] said: 550 5.7.1 >> Mail Refused - 206.104.130 > > > They're blocking the ClassC? Maybe they think yours a dynamic IP net. I hope not-nothing about it would indicate it is and it isn't. Just saw a post on NANOG from Mark Jeftovic at EasyDNS having the same problem and just now a followup from another person. At least in Mark's case it was the /24 also. -- Chris Scott Host Orlando, Inc http://www.hostorlando.com/
