I've worked with both extensively and nothing quite beats etinc where
packet shaping and bandwidth management is concerned.  Don't expect much
support from etinc if its a do-it-yourself install (they make this clear
on their webpage), all in all they can be helpful if the request is
reasonable (if you are a newbie in Linux, forget it!). Go for the
appliance product if you want better support.

The microtik offering is basic and basically uses what comes in Linux
but packages it up in an interface of sorts.
