One of our customers makes tons of web sites for other people,
particularly in the construction industry. Many of these sites contain
the pre-existing email addresses of their clients.

In that sort of situation, an email address scrambler is good because you
never know what the policies and abilities of their existing mail provider
are.

In almost every other situation, it is simply not worth the added work.

In fact, harvested addresses can be a tool to identify and kill spam.
