Candidate must have a strong background in *UNIX and Linux administration*. *Technical Requirements and Functions:* · Provide support for environments such as highly active databases, email servers, multimedia access, development, and highly available or disaster recovery environments. · Install and support new storage installations for projects · Working knowledge and experience of SAN and NAS administration. · Working experience with Enterprise, midrange, and nearline storage solutions. · Working experience with SAN, NAS, and iSCSI connectivity solutions. · Knowledge of Dell or Intel server hardware. · Knowledge of *Redhat Linux and UNIX operating systems*. · Knowledge of HBA configurations and multipathing for Linux and Windows. · Ability to create design and support documents and diagrams. · Provide and create best practice guides and implementation standards. · Experience with installing or maintaining storage solutions from * NetApp*, HP, and/or StorageTek/SUN. · Experience with installing* *or* *maintaining* Cisco MDS** SANswitches *. · Manage microcode and hardware upgrades. · Perform special projects and departmental initiatives as needed. · Rotational 24 x 7 on call support. *Pluses:* · Server and storage *Virtualization Experience*. · Experience with High Availability and Disaster Recovery solutions. · Understanding system optimization and tuning for Oracle environments. · Knowledge and experience with storage migrations and replication solutions. · Knowledge of Veritas Netbackup and data protection solutions. *Required Experience/Skills:* · MINIMUM 5+ years of experience in large (Enterprise Level) Open Source environment · Relevant academic qualifications · Should have relevant certifications such as *Redhat Linux (Must), NetApp (Must), Veritas (plus).* · Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills · Highly motivated · Flexible.
