We have a group of users that are having multiple users accessing the same Cyrus IMAP account through horde/imp (latest stable releases of both) simultaneously. They're basically doing the same job and dealing with incoming requests from the same pool of emails and are wanting to use the same account to keep things organized. They have been complaining that there are times when Imp will just sit there and spin its wheels for no apparent reason. Would this be a result of more than one person trying to access the same account at the same time? Is this kind of usage not advisable? If so, why? If this SHOULD be doable then can anyone suggest what might be hanging things up?
On an slight tangent... there are a number of things that could be at fault when a user experiences a problem. There could be an issue with the mail server, the IMAP proxy, the memcached servers, or the horde servers themselves. For large clustered installations it gets tough to be able to diagnose where the problem actually is. Has anyone come up with a good way to monitor the health of the entire system to be able to better keep your finger on the pulse?
