horde/imp doesn't care. it will just authenticate to your login server.

We have it running with hundreds of domains, and each user uses their 
full email address as their login name. Ours is a SASL database, but I 
think horde supports LDAP, , UNIX passwd files, or SQL database among 
others.

If you have multiple authentication servers, then I think you're going 
to be in trouble.
